      Sand timers add fun to many games by setting time limits, and can help children overcome distraction in simple tasks : "You have a minute to get your books out/ write your name/etc.", or "You have two minutes to finish that task..."
      Sand timers on an individual child's desk are great for keeping noisy children/compulsive wanderers etc under control. Mix with reward, and start with an attainable target - it may only be a minute. "If you can keep silent/still etc for ... you get a merit". Increase the target time by one or three minutes: either just turn over the sand timer or use an additional one. children with ADHD, dyspraxia and asperger syndrome seem to find this particularly helpful


      The 1 minute timers are made in their own unique mould, designed specially for this duration and are blue
